Reliance Big TV is offering a wide range of pay channels absolutely free for 1 year including HD channels and up to 500 FTA (Free-To-Air) channels free of cost for 5 years. Reliance Big TV's offer also includes a HD HEVC set top box effectively free of cost with 1 year warranty, said the company on its official website- reliancedigitaltv.com.
Consumers need to pay a certain amount at the time of pre-booking and then at the time of installation which is returned as loyalty bonus at the end of 3 years, the company said.
Reliance Big TV has so far partnered with 50,000 post offices in the country to facilitate booking of “free” high-definition, high-efficiency video coding (HD HEVC) set-top boxes by making an initial payment of Rs 499.
The company will commence its pre-bookings from June 20 across Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim for consumers to do an initial booking by making a payment of Rs 499/- through post offices.
The company will be starting the installation soon. All pre-booked customers will get their set-top boxes installed in their houses before July 30, claims the company. The delivery of set-top boxes will start from June 15. The HD HEVC set-top-box by Reliance Big TV offers features like scheduled recording, USB port and HDMI port. The offer includes paid channels free for one year including HD channels and up to 500 FTA channels free of cost for five years.
Users can avail the latest offer on Reliance Big TV website with booking amount of Rs 499/- at a post office. On the receipt of set-top-box and outdoor unit (ODU), buyers have to pay the balance amount of Rs 1500 to get the free channels and An additional amount of Rs 250 needs to be paid for installation. To get loyalty bonus, subscribers need to recharge a monthly amount of Rs 300/- from 2nd year onwards for all paid channels.
On completion of subscription of paid channels continuously for next two years with Reliance Big TV, subscribers will then get back Rs 1999 as a loyalty bonus (the amounts paid during booking and receipt of the set top box) in form of recharge, making it effectively free of cost. Delivery will commence after 30-45 days from the date of booking. The pre-booking was earlier made available in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, North-East and Goa.
